But these vegan, gluten free Banana Pancakes are something we can treat ourselves to every day while still supporting our health! The warming spices and naturally sweet, Earth energy ingredients help to calm the nervous system, balance an agitated, anxious mind, improve fertility and reproductive health, and more!

This recipe is great for Vata and Pitta types. It is perfect for the summer and fall seasons, when Pitta and Vata dosha can get out of balance. They are quick to make and so delicious! Bananas

When taken ripe and sweet, bananas are high in Earth and Fire energy and are especially beneficial to reduce an excessive Air energy (Vata dosha). They can reduce Pitta dosha but will increase Pitta energy in excess. Bananas provide strength, increase fertility, and help to bulk up the blood. When slightly underripe, bananas have more Air energy due to their astringent and dry taste. Underripe bananas are best for Pitta types and reducing excess Fire energy, such as in diarrhea.

Oats

Oats have long been a go-to breakfast staple. Rolled oats are processed and steamed so that they can have a quicker cooking time, making for the fast breakfast many of us enjoy. Steel cut oats retain the husk of the oat grain and are more fibrous, although they can be more difficult to digest if you have a weak digestion. Ayurvedically, oats have an “Earth” energy and are balancing for high Fire and high Air elements in the body. They are great for balancing anger and anxiety, producing a calming, grounding “Earth” effect on the mind and body.

Molasses

High in Earth and Fire energy, blackstrap molasses is an ideal ingredient for Vata types. It heats up the digestion, adds iron to the body, and reduces the “cold” Air imbalance which can cause anemia, shivers, constipation, dryness, and stiffness. It is also excellent for promoting a healthy menstrual cycle.
